And we are back with our second episode focused on the urban legend and more specifically, Cuba Road. But what is an urban legend? In a sense, it is considered to be a local mythology consisting of stories and claims in circulation, all of which are believed to be true. They spread within family or amongst friends or even around the campfire but with each retelling, they can become much more “entertaining.” Often times, these urban tales provide its listeners with warnings or are attempting to relay a horrifying message. But in the end, how much of these stories are true or contain a grain of truth to them?

In This Episode
In our second episode, we start to talk about the urban legend. What is an urban legend and how does it begin? How do urban legends evolve to the local stories we hear today? How have urban legends adapted to the age of the Internet?
We also discuss the many legends of Cuba Road, in Barrington, Illinois (a Western suburb of Chicago). This area was once home to the mob during the prohibition era and continues to haunt anyone who dares drive through it or step foot in the infamous White Cemetery.
